THE END OF AN ERA

BLUEY DAY COMES TO A CLOSE

After 15 years and over $20 million raised for sick kids right around Australia, the fundraising activities of the Bluey Day Foundation have come to an end, effective as from April 2010. Whilst it is a sad time to see the cause finish up, the reality is that it costs a considerable amount of money just to keep the place running (i.e. audit fees, compulsory insurances, phone, internet etc) and despite cutting our costs to a bare minimum, unfortunately without sponsor support it is no longer viable to keep the charity running in its current state.

On a positive, there have been many highlights over the last 15 years and the Bluey Day team are very aware of the big contributions made by our loyal and dedicated supporter base. Without these wonderful people rolling up their sleeves to fundraise, whether through shaving their heads or some other daring activity, the Bluey Day cause would not have been able to help so many kids. Thanks to everyone who has taken part and supported us, and most importantly, supported the kids. Since October 2009 Team Bluey have given back over $196,000 to hospitals and other child health organisations all around Australia - a GREAT result and one that we can all be proud of!!
